Why Would they Want to Hurt Me?

  • This series is a deeply personal response to the escalation of gun violence and statistical terrorism within America. The USA holds the highest rate in the world, with just under two mass shootings per day.

The series originated after a first hand encounter with a public shooting outside of a a public storefront. The images juxtapose a sense of contemplative beauty mixed with vulnerability. Each image serving as a visual poem and reflection of my sense of safety as a queer identifying individual and as a photojournalist in a post-Trump era.
